DBRL 1.2 - The Great Post Jam Update!
The final content update to DBRL adds a new exciting feature and a single easter egg:
THE DEVICE
Tragically absent from this year's Desert Bus For Hope due to chronic buscrashing problems, THE DEVICE is reborn as a toggleable setting in DBRL. Featuring EIGHT of the real DEVICE's final eleven modes, the DEVICE can be enabled for those who would like a more challenging DBRL experience, or those who'd just like to use AutoPilot to bypass the manual dexterity needed to get to Vegas.
The modes of the DEVICE can be accessed using the regular (non-numpad) number keys and are as follows:
1- Autohonk: The horn sounds every turn and you cannot disable it.
2- Autopilot: In addition to your input movement, the bus moves towards the goal city and towards the centre of the road every turn.
3- Cruise control: In addition to veering and your input movement, the bus moves either left or right, depending on which you last input.
4- Delay: The bus acts on movement input on the previous turn.
5- Lowgear: The bus cannot move on non-veering turns.
6- Reverse: The horizontal movement controls are reversed for all control schemes.
7- Slippery: All input vertical movement is doubled.
8- Veer: The bus veers every turn and veer directions are chosen at random.
0- Normal: Return to NORMAL VIEW.
EASTER EGG
There's not much to say about this, save that I couldn't resist doing it while adding all this new content, but the one clue I will give you to the nature of this hidden easter egg is this:
After publishing the first DBRL version, Famout reminded me that jam entries are limited to a PG-13 rating.
