PLAYTESTING DISCORD

TRACK DOGS is an upcoming Powered By The Apocalypse rpg that puts players in the role of track dogs, or "railfolk"; crews of individuals who. in the manner of the sailing crews of the golden age of piracy, ride trains on the railways between towns elevated above the "seven cedars"- the enormous mass of old-growth forest that covers the surface of the post-apocalyptic earth. It has a weird science fantasy bent and takes heavy inspiration from Sid Meier's Pirates!, the Akella games that followed it, Pirates Of The Carribean, Mortal Engines and Sunless Sea. It takes less inspiration from, but nonetheless fondly acknowledges, the fourth episode of short-lived 2008 BBC sketch show The Wrong Door entitled "The Train Pirates".

The major points setting TRACK DOGS apart from other PbtA games (aside from its premise) are its in-depth wound tracking system, where wounds are described, can become permanent, and can mount up into life-threatening general injury; and its failure system, which gives players a lot more agency over what their failure at a move entails.

Currently the game is mid-development and seeking playtesters. You can find the most recent versions of the player aids in pdf form here. - these will be uploaded as a free download to this project page on itch.io when the game is in a releasable state.
